Christmas came early for me this year.

Look what Lynne found! It is an Ebenezer Goodes Toy sewing machine with a swing needle. c1872

Interestingly this one has two central screws in the middle of the bed to hold it to its base whereas the others I have seen in Photos have a forward and aft screw. Wonder if the two central screws created a weak spot. Makes sense. Any other theories??

She has a beautiful brass stitch plate.

Just goes to show you there are still wonderful finds out there that happen along when you least expect them :-)
